Why You Shouldn’t Ignore a Blood Clot, or DVT
Ignoring a blood clot, such as one associated with Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), can lead to severe and potentially life-threatening complications. When left untreated, a blood clot can dislodge and travel through the bloodstream, causing a pulmonary embolism—a blockage in the pulmonary arteries supplying blood to the lungs. Pulmonary embolisms can result in difficulty breathing, chest pain, and in extreme cases, can be fatal.
